Brake lights not working

3 weeks ago, I noticed my high mount stop light wasn't working, had my girlfriend look at the back of my car while i stepped on the brake pedal, and she said just my left brake light was out.

I replaced my 2 lower brake lights (figured if 1 was out, the other was about to follow)

I drove for a week, noticed my high mount stop light still wasn't working (no reflection in rear windshield), replaced it, had the girly stand behind the car as i stood on the brakes.

none of the lights lit up. I checked the fuse, it looked good, but it's a 60 cent part, so I replaced it. nothing works.

I'm thinking it might be the brake light switch, but haven't actually checked if there's a voltage applied across the fuse or in the light sockets during braking yet. anyone have other ideas?

thanks guys.

yikes. if the lights keep going out, theres a short somewhere. You have the OEM taillights in...correct?

yah, everything's stock, except the dent on the right side, my sister put that in with her corolla.

The lights aren't burning out, they just aren't going on. Well, they don't look burned out.

pull back the wall behind the rear taillights and look at all the wiring...make sure that everything is still in the loom with no tears, ect. doubtful the dent has had any effect. If everything looks good, short the brake wiring terminals at the switch and see if your lights light up.
