Service Engine Soon Light
Service Engine Soon Light
Hey Everyone-
I was driving on the highway the other day and my service engine soon light came on. The car was able to continue a 400 mile trip without problems and the car has been running fine for about a year. The one thing I noticed was that I was at 79,800 miles when the light went on. Could this be because of a scheduled service at 80k?
I pulled the ECU codes and got 04/11. I checked the sticky posts and didn't see this code in detail.
Any help would be appreciated.

Its not in my FSM either - thats the second code posted today thats not listed in the FSM. It will be in the Haynes... I don't have mine handy... I'm sure someone else will post back the actual fault being reported.
I believe its more with the 2000 and newer cars and certain brands where the had the CEL tripped at a scheduled maintance time like 60K 90K etc. I'm very sure we dont have those in our cars (4th gens atleast).
if you go to an autostore they can pull codes and tell you what it is for free, with their reader and printer.

There are many parts that can fail without causing any direct driveability related issues, or any changes that can be detected by the daily driver.
