Weird Problem

I am having a weird problem. Twice today at a red light my idle spiked up high then went to zero and the car shut off. then the park brake, oil, battery, and CEL 's came on. When I restarted the car the lights went off. My A/F gauge is also reading rich and the exhaust smells rich. The idle is a little jumpy. I checked for codes and I didnt get any. What could be the problem? I am going to try cleaning the MAF any other ideas? Thanks

mine did the same thing for a while but it never shut the engine off it would catch itself at like 300 rpms and be fine. Today I tried cleaning the throttle body and now the car idles perfectly with no rpm spikes. You could try to clean the IAC valve as well and adjust the TPS sensor if it still is giving you problems.

Anytime a car dies all the lights on the dash will light up... its like when u turn the key to on but not all the way to crank it. After doin like 120 on the highway i got off to get gas... car acted like as if it was out of gas. After filling up my cars RPMs went up and down and evertually to 0 and died. Drove to a nearby friends house, died 2 more times on the way there. Looked around the motor and noticed intake wasnt even connected Put that back on car ran perfectly again... And also clean Throttle body... write up can be found here And clean IACV, how to is in the stickies... also explained in this thread
