Uggg i was washing my car today and noticed MORE rust. I have a little spot on my gas door, and now on the rear passinger wheel well area theres a line of it. That just ****es me off, and i want to fix that ASAP. What should i do? Sand it and clear coat it?

You can sand it away or try using a steel brush.

Your right and I am totally wrong. My mind wandered and I was thinking about rust on the chassis. My Toyota days.

Well, get rid of the physical stuff as well as you can. if it is on the outside of the car (like on the painted surfaces), than you really cant do much beyond making sure you constantly scrape it off (with using the methods other's mentioned). But if you are getting rust on the interior sides of the car (like your inner trunk or inner door jambs), you can help prevent new rust from forming, and slow down the current rust's progress. Make sure you clean it off well (scraping or whatever) and then spray a coat of WD-40 over the bad areas. Wipe it down lightly with a rag... Should last you a few weeks. WD-40 is perfect at protecting exposed/damaged metal parts. If you put in a enough time/elbowgrease, the rust will disintergrate with your WD-40 and you rubbing it in...

FYI - WD-40 was named because of it's "Water Displacement" abilites... That's what you are going to take advantage of...
