Wiring Palm Pilot Charger to ACC.

I'm interested in wiring a palm pilot charger directly to an 'acc' line so I can hide the wires. Whats the best way of doing this so the palm pilot only gets power when the car is on as opposed to continuously draining the battery. Do you guys recommend the cigarette lighter adapter? If so how would I go about doing this.

pull apart your center console so that you can see the wires attached to the cigarette lighter, there should be 2 wires running into it. i hard wired my radar detector into this. On my 95 theres an orange with a black stripe, and a solid black, which should be the ground. you can tap into both of them like i did, or just the wire with the stripe. wire the orange wire to the positive, and either ground the negative to the chassis or bare metal, or to the other wire. voila...hard wired accessory that is only on when the car is on. just be careful not to wire more than one or two things into it, so you dont overload the fuse.
