I got a Maxima problem.

About 2 months ago i scheduled an oil change and for the shop to instal my under drive pulley. Well the night before i ran out of gas so i put about a gallon in the tank so i could get it to the shop in the mourning. On the way there it drove like i was running out of gas, i just figured that that was the probelm and that i would fill up when i got the car out of the shop.Wheni was driving the car to the shop it felt lacked throttle responce and then when it would kick in it would jump up to high rms make it "buck". Well when i got out the shop with the new pulley it still had the same problem. I replaced the fuel pump and it helped a little. do you think it has to do with fuel injection or the new pulley?

if it started happening before you installed the pulley, I don't see how it has anything to do with the pulley.

Have you changed the fuel filter? perhaps you sucked sediment/other deposits into the fuel lines when you let the tank run really low.

Does it happen when you actually have more than a gallon of gas in the tank (maybe around 5-6 gallons lol)? What year is your car? Last time you had a tuneup or done maintainance work (clean TB/IACV)?

that has nothing to do with the pulley. perhaps a crappy tank of gas?

i changed the fuel filter and i have been running premium since. i have gone through multiple tanks of gas and nothing helped, except the fuelfilter replacemnt which leads me to believe is it the fuel coil.

What's the reason behind driving your car nearly empty and not filling it up before taking it to your mechanic? You don't trust him thinking that he might use your car to pick up his lunch?

try running some Lucas Cleaner for about 300 miles to clean the injectors. (they're not clean if you pulled the and cleaned them manually.
