Ok theres a local 1995 maxima for about $1200 w/ 151K miles, I plan on calling the seller in the morning or afternoon cause I assume theres gotta be problems wit it, and I will try to see it sumtime next week but if its drivable and fixable I might jus come away with a max. and I was wondering what I should look out for and what not. thanx for the input..

it's hard for us to give you advice when you don't even know about the car. get your info and then ask others so you have more details. but that is a pretty low price, and if you have the resources to work on it, the mileage shouldn't be a prob.

Go to the regional forum and see if another org member can go with you to check it out or bring a mechanic friend along.

Buy a 5.5 Gen ... lol ... man I want to sell my 95 GLE Auto. The thought of 6-speed is killer. 3.5 liter with 255 horses. You can own people. If your budget is less than 14500 then yeah you will have to dip to 5.0 gen or late 4th gen.

That is an amazing price depending on what is wrong. Some people hear a car has transmission problems and just sell it off. If this is the case its still a steal $1.5K and say another 1.5K for a transmission $3K is still an amazing deal.

Find out all that is wrong with it and post here, we can give you a general estimate of what it will cost to repair each. Add that up to the total of the car and see if its a good deal. Normally A Decent Max will cost around $4K.

there are many on here with over 200K miles still going strong. I'd pick it up and swap a DE-K or VQ35 in there. End of the project you still would have payed less than a normal 4th gen, but have monster on your hands. Even cheaper if yuo just swap another low milage vq in tehre.

about $800 for the motor, maybe another $800 for the tranny. then if you do the work yourself factor another $500 for various parts etc, and your done.

so about an adition $2100 to the $1000 price tag, you come out on top either way.

I'd agree. Buy it and swap in a VQ35 with a 5-speed. 3k at the end of the day, less than 30-40k miles on the 3.5, and low 14s with everything else stock.

for that low a price i would be skeptical. def get it cheked out by a trusted mechanic...it is def worth the money to have it thoroughly checked over before you make a decision.

Just like with everything else, you get what you pay for. Buy the very best car that you can afford and you'll be much happier. $1,500 may be yuor initial outlay, but God only knows how much else you'll end up shelling out.

Nice. Looks like someone already put clear bumper lights on it.

Is the rear quarter under the antenna a little dented or scratched? It's a little hard to tell at that resolution.

Hey man. I just purchased my max on Sunday. I paid $4300 it. I had to ride all the way to Chesapeake, VA.(200 miles) It's hard to find an 5spd cheap but I saw hundreds of Autos. If you need help I will help you search.
