Tokiko Blues w/ low springs (2") ?

I was wondering if any1 has paired Tokiko Blues w/ with low springs like a drop more than the eibach's which are currently on my car...... i want to go with the tein s-techs, but i hear that these shocks aren't that great to support the drop of tein s-techs, which i think is 2". Also, is there any reason why people buy Ben's rear shock mounts? And, if any1 wants ill trade my Eibach springs for Tein S'techs if any1 is interested.

And that guy will blow his tokico blues in no time. The lower the springs go, the higher the spring rate usually gets. The higher the spring rate is, the stiffer it usually is. Tokico Blues will blow when paired with very stiff springs, ie: s-techs...h-techs is already pushing it. You'll have a better chance with GR2's but even with that, the struts won't last as long. If you want to go with lower springs, you must go with better struts ie: Illuminas or AGX.

Go to this link and read up: http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php?MaximaHandling . BTW, this is also in the stickies. And this is the second thread started today with the same topic, search the stickies first before starting a thread!

yeah i have blues and regret it but they seem fine with my maxspeeds. I would definetly go with illuminas but my blues were free. Plus blues are very soft and not as responsive, its slightly better than stock struts.

I have a 97 GXE.
i bought the Tokico HPK245's thats the strut spring combo. The car is stiff in the front and soft in the rear. Dont know if thats normal. i am running 2003 17's on it and fills the wheel wells fine.

Their really not intended for extreme drops.
Their comparable to the GR2's.
Although, i have a buddy who had blues paired with his Sprints and he never had an issue.
He also mainly just drove back and fourth to work and never really beat on his car or really worked his suspension so that may have helped.

I'm just reposting something I said in another thread concerning the blues. Call me lazy. Maybe I'm just trying to get my post count up.

~~I've also heard heard about the blues blowing early with lowering springs. I'm riding on the blues myself. I bought the blues and the springs, both from Tokico. They were being sold as a set. So far, after 20K miles, they seem to be holding up well. No signs of leaking. Maybe people are experiencing early blow outs with extreme drops. These Tokico springs only have modest drops. 1.5" front/1.3" rear. The ride is a bit bouncy sometimes, but more than tolerable. Usually very comfortable. The handling isn't too shabby either. That's my experience with the blues so far. Very happy with them.~~

Yes, it gives your car some of the suspension travel that it looses when you lower it. I have them and they made a significant improvement in the feel and handling of my car on the back. I recommend them to anyone who is thinking of lowering their Max.
