Problem, anyone else have the same?

when i start my car and turn the key i get nothing. Then, the second time tried it will fire right up. At first i was thinking alternator/starter. Then i got to thinking what else. It fires the second time so i was thinking maybe leaking injector. but then i thought if i start it, run it, turn it off and re-try to start it will fire first time. So maybe that would tell me how slow or fast it was leaking. Then I thought it could be fuel pump regulator not working properly. Has anyone else had this problem and found out what it was? thanks for any help. -Jeff

Slow down

When you say "get nothing", I assume you mean it doesn't turn over/crank at all. It could be a variety of things including the starter, but I'd put my money on the ignition switch. Its a 25 dollar part (dealer or otherwise) and can be replaced yourself in 15 minutes.

Cheers.

the same happens wit me. i wud turn the key and nothin happens. no turning of the motor...no noises....no nothing!
my first guess was the ignition switch.
if it is i wud replace it.
i wud also appreciate more insight into this problem.

is there a writeup to change the ignition switch also??

ignition switch. happened to my car a few months ago. I would turn the key and nothing would happen, I would have to turn it at least twice for the car to turn over. went and got the electrical portion of the ignition switch replaced and everything was fine. just make sure to get JUST the electrical part replaced and not the whole switch. if you get the entire switch replaced you gotta get a new key.
