O2 sensors and Cali Spec

I need a front right O2 sensor (CEL on). The dealer tells me (according to my VIN) that i have a cali spec car. But when i look at my engine there doesnt appear to be all that cali spec stuff. Maybe i am confused, but cant you tell cali spec and non-cali by looking in the engine bay? isnt there like tubes everywhere on top of the heads like near the throttle body on a cali spec car? Maybe i am wrong, can anyone clarify? Also, where do i get a cali spec O2 sensor affordably? is generic OK to buy, or stick with OEM? what is the difference? why wont a "regular" o2 sensor suffice?

Any help appreciated!

Devin

There is no such thing as a cali spec O2 (IIRC). There are just more on a cali-spec car (99 model). You can get o2 sensors from www.oxygensensors.com. Get a Bosch OEM equivalent - plug and play.

Their prices arent bad, thanks for a fast reply.

Why do you recommend Bosch? i thought they were not good? Whats about Walker or Denso? what the difference?

Thanks again,
Devin

Bosch is the OEM for nissan O2 sensors (at least for the 4th Gen). Mention maxima.org and use one of their preferred payment methods for an additional discount (check the group deals section for more info).
