do i need alginment after putting on rims?

would i need an alignment after i put on some 19x8's?? im gettin bigger tires than what is recommended (increasing diamater), dunno if that matters !

also, what locking lug nutz do u guys recommend??? i know they are useless but wth, at least it slows them down !

no, what makes you think you would?

as to lug nuts...only McGuard or McGard (forgot which one)

They are expensive - paid $65 for all 20, but well worth it - none of this POS-rust-in-3-months Autozone BS.
Anyway, I've had them on for close to 2 years with no sign of rust whatsoever. They are a perfect fit, even on your stock wrench.

Not sure if going with a drastically different overall circumference is a good idea.

You're not touching the suspension.

I recommend Gorilla lugs...the name should scare would-be thieves off

If your alignment was good before, you shouldn't have to do more than a tire balance.

the thing is im putting on the rims like 4 days after i lower the car. was just wondering if i should do alignment right after i lower it or wait for the rims then do the whole thing ?! in another words, the car will be already newly aligned when i put on the wheels if i choose to do it right after i lower it.

I would do it with the new rims. Why not do it with the setup you are gunna be running? (the 19s after drop)

no real reason, other than to save my time. also i wanna avoid taking off the rims one more time and putting them on. they might scratch it blah blah !! shops are careless !

my current alignment is horrible. i hit a curb few months ago, popped 2 tires, bent my stock rim a little bit and i have horrible shakes @ 70-80 mph. aslo, front 2 tires are bald as heck

hey guys- you change tire size and you need an alignment - but not to factory specs. you have to calculate new specs for at least the caster so the edge of the tire doesn't wear out. a bigger circumference tire would wear on the outside edge without calculating new alignment specs. and then there is always the big tire rubs on something when you make a sharp turn.

also, if you change the diameter of the tire, the speedometer will be off. larger diameter tire means the speedometer reads slow.

well, getting an alignment is good. but you have to be careful of where you go. i went on tues to firestone to try and get a lifetime warranty on the alignment, everything was fine, except i noticed since my car is so low, it wouldn't of gone up the ramp. so....yea, gotta be careful with that, dun wanan go through the hassle n then realize they can't do a thing because they can't get your car on the lift. Motegi lug nuts are cheap, nice, n are good.

lower and put rims on get alignment. If anything stand and watch them so they'll have to be careful. A scatch or two is better than having to buy a new tire (thats only assuming they cause a scartch)
