Need help removing dash..

Hey, I'm removing the black dash in my '95 GXE parts car, and I've taken off all the bolts and screws, but it still seems to be stuck on something. I looked underneath where the airbag sits, and it looks like that is still connected, but the airbag is connected with a weird star shaped circular bolt. what kind of tool would i need to remove the passenger airbag to remove the dash, or can i remove it as one piece?

Thanks,

-freddy

Youu need a tamper proof t45 torx bit to remove the airbag. It can be bought at any local parts store. Or you could remove 4 10mm bolts that secure the airbag to the dash but it is a very tight fit for those bolts. It would be much easier to buy the torx bit. Also remember to remove the battery ground for atleast ten minutes before unplugging the airbag. Did you also get the bolts under the defrost vents next to the windshield?

not at all...just the airbag's a pain. It'll take you less than an hour.

I'll second that the airbag is a PIA to get out. I ended up tearing the dash to get to the four 10mm nuts that hold it in place.

Supposedly you can just remove the special tamper proof nuts (I borrowed the tool from a nissan dealer since Autozone looked at me funny, and I even brought a nut in too!), to remove the airbag, but I had no such luck. Just wouldn't buldge.
