Which 2 piston Calipers work on the 4th gens?

Heres the readers digest version. My buddy's family owns a scrapyard here in Canada, and he owes me a favor for saving his butt in school this year and helping him graduate.

I've read the 300zx calipers work on the 4th gen maximas. He doesnt have a 300zx but he has newer maximas and altimas and I would imagine infinitis and most other makes and brands.

Anyone know whick vehicles calipers I should be asking him a good price on?

Whats a good price for wrecker calipers?

Will the bigger breaks have an issue fitting on 1998 stock se rims? If so, how big would I have to go to make it fit?

One more thing, to whomever answers my questions above, I also need to know what are good pads and rotors to go with the calipers and whether or not I should take the pads or at least the rotors (if they are in good condition of course and after having them machined) from my friend with the calipers...

By the way, thanks in advanced

I gotta give this a bump, I'm going later this afternoon to have a look at the scrapyard. Any other suggestions on parts from pretty much any car that would work well on a max? (except engine/tranny etc.)

if your getting the calipers you'll want the rotors also. I've heard the 6th gen rotors fit 4th gen, but dont know if he has any in his yard.

4 piston sounds like overkill for your car unless you have some boost, or nitrious running. the 300zx calipers are only 2 piston and stop pretty damn good.

Thanks MD, I think I meant 2 piston,

do you know of any other vehicles other than the 6th gen max that has 2 piston caliper or any desirable part that would fit a 4th gen?

Also is $150 a good deal for 4 6th gen calipers ($30/per rotor also) or just a decent price?

Cant think of any off the top of my head, I'm not as knowlegable on brakes that work on our cars, but $150 for 4 6th gen calipers sounds like a great deal, are they 2 piston, also gotta double check and make sure that all hardware will match up with our 4th gens.

just checked nissan web page rotors are:
12.60" vented front discs/11.50" rear disc brakes

you can get the 30mm 300zx calipers and you'll have to get the steel brake lines and if you use the stock 300zx rotors you dont have to use the bracket if you use the 04 maxima rotors you'll have to use the bracket you can also use 2 piston j30 calipers

300zx calipers are 4 piston not two! They will NOT fit on stock Maxima 4th gen rims!
Stopping and braking in a shorter distance! How can that be "overkill"?

SOrry thought the 300ZX were two piston. They can fit the 4th gen with addition hardware parts. About with Stock rims I dont know and didnt address in my post. Look how decent stock pads stop (on stock power) add better pads SS line and good fluid you'll have great stopping power. I refered to overkill interms of the cost to stop your car faster when the need isnt as great as if he had boost or more than stock power.

plus I said sounds like overkill, no definative stament saying they are overkill. Still if he want to go with it by all means.

with stock 16" rims you really can't go a whole hell of a lot bigger as far as brakes go, and they are brakes, you aren't on a break

You could always get a great deal on some of those calipers, and sell them here or on ebay, and buy the 300ZX kit
