Were the Canadian LSD's the same as the I30T LSD's? I wasn't aware that there was a problem with the LSD tranny's...I guess there's no hope
If there is this problem with the LSD's, then go with the A33 LSD tranny and axle.

A33 LSD trans and axle are super rare (check car part at any given time there is probably not a single one of either on there, or maybe one at most) and they too suffer from the bearing problems at least occasionally. I haven't heard of the bearing problems being as prevalent, but they exist, as the A33 LSD trans I have was victim of it.

Strength of the gears and improper preload on the differential and input shaft bearings are two totally unrelated things... You could have the strongest gears in the world and still have the incorrect shims installed and thus have improper preload on those bearings, or have the weakest gears in the world and have the most perfectly shimmed transmission ever.

My trans is at TRE (www.teamrip.com) about to be gone through to beef it up. I will have them measure 3rd gear with a caliper and then measure my own 3rd gear in the 95 trans which I have, and then have a definitive answer on the subject. I don't know either whether or not the claim is true but I'd sure like to find out.
