Click/knock when put in reverse?

Anyone with Autos hear this noise at all? It's not every time during the day but it is every time in the morning when leaving for work.

When put it in reverse I hear (and feel to a slight degree) a metallic click or knock.

Any ideas?

u sure it's not a creak? I get a creak when I change through the a/t gears. I think it's the brakes ??? the knocking/popping could be the axles as said above. I just started to hear my popping noise. even though my boots show no wear, i'm getting the noise.

No, it's not a creak, definitely a click/knock noise. Sounds and feels like it's two metal parts clicking/knocking together and it only happens when I put it in reverse. Doesn't seem like it happens as much when the car is warm, but when it's been sitting for a spell.

Its the shift-interlock disengaging. It actually happens when you press down on your brake pedal.

I get the same noise, sounds like it comes from the left front wheel. It's been doing it for over 2 years and nothing has failed yet. Usually it does it first thing in the morning, as soon as I hit reverse when I back out of my driveway. I'm not worried about it, nor does it concern me, so I just keep on driving.
