What's The Buzz When Shifting Auto?

I was pushing my car to a different place with the engine off and as I shifted from park to neutral I heard a faint buzz coming from the engine compartment. Has anyone heard this as well?

So you had the key in the ignition... probably in the On position .. most likely something warming up ready to start the car .. mine makes that sounds when you turn the key to on.

hmm i actually get a rubbing noise immediately after putting my key into the 'on' position. it sounds like a brakepad on a glazed over rotor, and its for like a second.
