new 5th gen clutch & Re-Built Tranny...

Got my car back yesterday....

Re-built tranny, and 5th gen clutch installed...

Drives like a dream....

Love the feeling of the clutch (It grabs hard, so it will take a few days to get used to it though...)

definatly would recomend getting this clutch if you need one...

Cant wait to break it in so i can se how it realy does...

I had the same thing done pretty much, all new bearings and seals, $1389 with my own clutch parts, and just their labor and trans parts. All in all i'm happy with it, the clutch grabs great, but i'll be paying it off until late next year probably

$1700ish including buying clutch, tranny parts, and a few random sensors and suck, +Labor

alot of $, but worth it in the end....

I do like the grabby clutch though i was supprised at how hard it grabs...
It felt rough at first, but after a day or two now I am used to it...
I think once I am through my break in 500, and I can get on it, I will like the clutch alot more than trying not to rev the engine, with such a little grab spot.

After dealing with my 4th gen clutch slipping for a few months, this is like a whole new car...

I would recomend doing this for all you guys....

a lil expensive, but well worth it...

Dave.

I can't wait to get this tranny put in that is sitting in my garage at the moment. The gear oil leakage is really getting bad now. My wife calls the car the "a s s wagon" because of the horrid smell from the gear oil . I need to save up some money.... Did the bad bearings cause any damage to your axles? Im trying to figure out what parts Im going to need to pay for. Clutch (maybe, 95K on it but still grabs fine), rear main seal?, axle(s)? ect...

I replaced the axles (They were cheep, and we were in there anyway)

I would recoment another 200 for the 5th gen clutch too, if your in there, and re-surface the fly wheel as well...

Youll be happy when its done...

Unless you need a clutch that will be able to handle the extra power of a 3.5L swap or forced induction, I don't understand why people are putting 5th gen clutches in. To me a clutch is a clutch.....right??? Or are there some benefits that I don't know about? Thanks.

From what I understand its is built better, as you should expext buying 05 over 99 parts, Not sure exactly what the differences are though.

But, the main reasion I did it, was for the pedal feel. It grabs noticably harder than the fourth gen clutch, and for me who shifts harder than the normal driver it is deffinatly worth it.

Basicly it feels good, and I also would like to think it would last longer than the fourth gen clutch...
