My test pipe has an O2 bung in it so thats whay I get no CEL.
From what Ive read, test pipes running no 02 in them trigger the CEL.

Hmm so I guess on a 97+ it would probably trip the CEL?

test pipe replaces the cat....and it depends where ur 02 SENSOR is in 97-up they are after the cat so if the o2 detects un catalyzed exhaust it thinks something is wrong and triggers ur CEL....95-96 its in the cat so if u have test pipe with an 02 it will be fine

I don't see why it would trip the cel. I was forced to drive with a gutted cat for a few weeks, same as test pipe, and got nothing.

It shouldnt, as long as the O2 sensor is plugged in.
The guys running tests pipes with no O2 bung and with their O2 sensor left out get the CEL.

And that works for the 96 guys, but if I get a test pipe that has no 02 bung, I guess the sensor will something that is out of the ordinary and cause the cel to be on... idk.... i wonder....

All I know is i have the 0702 and 0703 popping up every once in a while... and I'm pretty sure the cat neesd replaced.

But you have a 97, which has the bung in the b-pipe. I'm not sure what the problem is.
If you get a rear o2 make sure the rear o2 is grounded, that's the problem. You remember when everything was stock there was a metal braided wire that went from the body of the car to the a bolt on the cat converter? That is a rear o2 ground.

Well if that is the reason the cel comes on I'll be okay with my g-force I had to wire in a new ground wire pin into the ecu for the loop to close on the rear 02. I'll just make sure the wire is hooked in and all should be good. Thanks for all the help.
