A lot of problems with my car, need help

I got a 99 max, and I am getting couple problems.

The first problem is that when I first start up the car, it would make this squeaking sound, and it would continue for about 10 seconds, once I start to drive the car, it would make that sound again.

The next thing is that I got a 1320 code which I think is the coil packs or sparkplugs, but I recently got my sparkplugs replaced with NGK platinums. The weird thing is that only sometimes my car would jerk a lot, which I suspect is the coil packs, but it doesnt happen all the time. Is there anyway to check which coil pack is bad?

The last thing is that when I am driving around 60 mph or above, and when I sometimes accidently push the shift to neutral, my car's engine would just die out. I thought that it might be some bug, so I made that attempt again, and it happened again.

I would appreciate it if anyone can help me out.

1. Squeaking sounds like a belt - but it could be many things.
2. You have a 99 and a 1320 codes - its the coil packs.

I just got my steering belt replaced recently, and I got my friend to check it out and he said its not loose.

For the coil packs, do I have to replace all of them or is there anyway for me to check which one is broken, and where would I go for the best price for the coil packs.

Thanks

Try to get your serpentine belt checked by a mechanic.

If the noise started after you replaced the belt - then it's probably the belt - or perhaps the belt tensioner that is squeeling.

All the 99 coil packs fail eventually - so the best thing is to replace all 6. The problem with testing them is that they typically fail under load, so they may all pass a bench test, but still be faulty. Look for The Midway Nissan July Specials thread in the group deals forum - PM Dan Tech - he'll get you good prices.

Do you mean it stalls when you put it into neutral? Would I be correct in assuming you have a manual transmission?

I have a similar problem on my 95 maxima gxe. At first the car shakes at stops and was worse with the ac on. the code eas cylinder 1 misfire so i took it to the dealers to find the cause. they said it was the #1 fuel injector. since the injectors were hard to reach i replaced all the rear injectors, but not the front. the car ran like a brand new car for about20 minutes and then the same shake returned. the next morning the car was hard to start and seemed to be flooding. when i got it started there was grey smoke that smelled like fuel from exust, put put put sound was coming from the mufler, and this has been the problem since. it has those conditions and the shake worsens when the ac is on. when driving you can smell lots of gas smell coming from the exaust. performance seems to worsen after the car reaches normal temp. the code from the ecm says multiple misfire. when it was only cylinder 1 misfire i drove the car but the shake was annoying, now i can't drive the car and it even misfires when the rpm's are low and i'm driving it. does anyone have a clue what's going on, i will appreciate any response, before i take it back to the stealers

Sounds like your problem isn't all that similar at all. Ancientwiseone's problem is most likely the ignition coils, since they are prone to failure on '99s. The same could be happening on your '95, but it isn't as likely. If Cylinder #1 seems to be the source of the issue, have you tried replacing the #1 ignition coil? Also, have you pulled your spark plugs? How do they look? Do they give any indication of atypical combustion?

If you wanna check your cylinders to see which one's got the misfire so you can replace a pack, here's what you have to do. Start your engine and then one by one disconnect the cylinders. Every time you disconnect a cylinder, the RPM's should drop, when/if you get to one and the RPM's don't drop, you know you found the bad cyliner and at that point it's most likely the plug, the wire, or the coil pack. I had a HORRIBLE (and I mean bad) misfire on my way from Chicago to San Antonio and when the tech came out to look at it (on a Sunday in a hotel parking lot in Tulsa, OK, nonetheless), he showed me how to diagnose this problem. He then proceeded to rip one out of his ML 350 so I could go home. Try that out.
