I have the 300 filter on my car. The inlet and outlet pipes go right on. The 300 filter is bigger. I was able to put it in the factory bracket but it didn't slip right in. It's no harder to install the 300 filter than the one that was supposed to go in it.

I put a 300z ff in my 99SE 5 speed. I'm speculating that because the 300z fuel filter allows gas to pass through it easier, it will improve performance, maybe.

I would have to dyno it to find out for sure. I'm guessing that because the gas flows easier, you get better throttle response. Again, speculation. No proof.

Has anyone done a comparative analysis on the differences from OEM to the 300z OEM filters?

OEM max filter lasts about 30k miles. 300zx filter will last about 60k. Its also about $1-2 cheaper than the maxima filter.
