Location of speed sensor

I need to change my speed sensor as I'm still using the one from my auto in my 5spd. My Haynes manual pic doesn't really help locate it. If looking down into the engine bay, whereabouts is it? Would I have to get under the car to replace it?

im pretty sure if you stand infront of the drivers side fender and look at the motor is way under all the junk there and on the top of the tranny towards the rear right

here is a pic I took a while back for another member. If you stand on the driver side nad look straight down at the tranny, right on the very top and twords the back you will see it. Its just held in by that one bolt. Remeber to take off the harness before you remove it, and then just pull straight up.

Does anyone know the part number for the VSS off hand? I went to the dealership to pick one up and they gave me part #32702-32U00 - pinion assembly. I just want to make sure they didn't mess up before I replace it because the guy didn't seem confident that he had the right one when he gave me it.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that. It's an auto.

I have one for sale. Otherwise, I'd suggest calling Dave Burnette at South Point Nissan for it.

What was wrong with running the one out of your auto? I've been running an auto pinion in my 5spd trouble free for a year now.

It reports the wrong speed due to the different gear ratios.
