Sup Liu. Depending on your final pricing, I may be interested in picking up one from you so I could be your guinea pig/test vehicle for the hood if needed. Does this one have precut holes for the wiper nozzles? Also, are you still coming out to the DNE meet next week? I'm looking forward to seeing your completed retro setup.

If you click the link, it has pictures of the weights.

OEM is 44lbs. C-Wing CF is 19.5lbs.

So what is the fundamental reason for opting for the CF hood, a savings of 24.5 pounds. It sure can't be for appearance as they don't look particularly appealing unless they're painted.

If its just for weight purposes than why would .orgers drive around with such heavy wheels and tires? It kind of defeats the purpose.

It's mostly looks. People just use the weight thing as an excuse. hehe. I think they look good on dark colored cars. IMHO, a CF hood on a light colored cars looks like someone put an unpainted spare hood on.

So one might not look too bad with my Black Emerald paint which is in excellent condition.

No I wouldn't buy one. I would buy a JWT ECU before I dropped US$500 plus tax, brokerage etc. into a stupid hood.

lol, i couldnt agree more, picture a white suit, white tie, white shoes and wearing a black hat...

as far as rolled edges...its BS, i have an expensive CF hood with NO rolled edges, yeah the edges might fray in about 30 years...it shouldnt be a main concern though....

That price isnt too bad if the quality is there. I paid ~400 shipped for mine (carbonefx). Quality speaking its a nice hood, but some room for improvement. I would have paid an extra ~$75 for a few minor details. Albeit mine came with CF eyelids which I sold. So I guess I only paid ~$360.

Shipping is a bish.
You have to factor in the size of the object.
With it being so large, it has to go freight.

I totally agree with you.

I opted for the CF hood and trunk for weight savings. and for my rims, I'm getting rims that wiegh 11 lbs each!! I'm sheding as much weight as possible.

Back on topic. Wouldn't you only need 5 buyers to get your $2000 minimum?

I have the hood from importfan, and it's very nice. My girlfriend and all her friends say they hate the hood, it makes it look tacky and busted up. But all my guy friends and stuff say they love it. Once I lose my girlfriend, I may have to move back to the stock hood, and back to CF when I'm taken again. haha

Well, I hope it works out for you. Trying to get 10 COMMITTED people is going to be hard. Every group deal has fallen through recently pertaining to CF hoods. I know, I was in one... and when the deal went south, I bought my own from Carbon EFX for $330 OTD I would try for 5 if I was you. Just my .02
