New Coilovers....Noise from suspension
New Coilovers....Noise from suspension
I just installesd tein basic damper coilovers in my 95 max....Now when i turn the steering wheel either when im driving or at a dead stop i hear the spring making a noise only in the front driver side...has anyone had a problem like this or has an opinion.....the best way i can describe the sound..its like the garage spring when u pull them it makes a certain noise...

Did you have to use strut mounts with these? Did you re-use or replace the strut bearings?

but what im thinking it is ...the front springs i had to put a metal peice that sit right on top of the spring....metal to metal contact..could this be it
Not sure what metal piece you are talking about - but it was probably not a good idea to reuse the strut bearings.. if you do end up taking it apart again, put in a new bearing... its worth the 20 bucks.
Fancy word of a piece of rubber that you wrap around the coils so that the coils don't contact the spring seats/perch directly..

k if the noise is like a clank.. or if you hear it iwnd up aand then release or anythign its def bearings.. and specially if its at a stop and its making noises cause very little metal to metal contact that would make noise when car is stopped... use the spring isolators. i got mine form everyhting nissan for liek 20bucks for like 4.. and they help alot with cruising on bumpy or bad roads... no noise... and also the bearings ... def change themm... its like 18 bucks at parts authority.. and its crucial to turning...
