Shift Linkage...
Shift Linkage...
Does anyone know if the cable between the shifter and the linkage on the front of the tranny (for an auto....) is adjustable. I bought the car with front end damage and am fixing it...I guess that it got knocked around in the accident, and when you move the lever the orange bar doesnt indicate the correct gear....also wont let you start it in park becasue its off about 3/8 of an inch..you have to start it in neutral. So i was wondering if its adjustable at all, and at which end. I was hoping for a little insight before i go ripping the center console apart...
Yes its adjustable. I would *assume* that its adjustable from under the shifter at the center console. It would be worthwhile to acquire a Haynes manual - things like this are much easier with a guide.
Cheers.
Cheers.
hmm, the actual cable itself is connected to the shifter mechanism underneath the shifter trim piece and then i think at the front of the automatic transmission. i would check those two areas for points of adjustment.
