Wow, I can't believe there is actually a question about the decision, nevermind the thread...
FUN RWD. Looking at your mods in your sig, you have a respectable n/a maxima, that you said you would keep as a daily. Buy a z32tt (or have you looked into an RB swapped 240sx lately? or even a ka-t? They have one of those engines, built of course, running 638 hp off of a 2.4L four banger.) Damn dude, get the good handling RWD car to fix up. As I think Frank Fontaine said: it's easier to make a good handling car fast than it is to make a fast car good handling.

You say an RB swapped 240 like its a simple drop in like an SR. Do you have any idea the ammount of time and money is required to build a reliable RB powered 240sx? But a 240sx is a great idea. You can get a lot of power out of the KA and there is also the SR swap. I was going to get one before I finally realized that there is no way someone my size can have a coupe as a daily driver.

But deffinately keep the max with simple n/a mods. Keep it reliable and a good daily drive, assuming that it already is reliable. Then also get a rwd car to have fun with.

Save your money for when you want to buy property if you haven't already. If you have property, pay it off.

bobo is right, use it as a downpayment on a house. if you dont have enough save. when you put money into a house say $10,000, the value of it goes up by $20,000. unlike a car in which, when you mod it, u usually end up losing money on resale. realestate is one of the best ways to make money now.

I didn't mean for it to seem like it was an easy swap, however, the RB20DET seems that it could be had for less money than an SR swap (this is what I gathered from trolling 240sxforums.com anyway). Yes, I do know that people spend well into 10 grand to get an RB26DETT in their 240, but that's not the engine that I was referring to anyways. If I do get a 240, even with a blown engine, I would turbo the KA. The RB20/25's aren't nearly as complicated as an RB26, so the swap is a little easier. IIRC, swapping an RB20det into an S13 shell isn't so much more difficult than as SR (voicing the opinion of someone who opted for that swap instead of an SR, NOT personal experience) there is just some modifications needed to fit the engine in with a radiator, and relocating the battery, among other things, but not terribly difficult if you are competent doing engine swaps as it is.
The reason I suggested that is because he said that he had money to spend, and if he was looking to purchase a z32tt or a supra and THEN build it, I would think there would be enough money to find a decent shell, and a competent shop to swap an RB20/5 in. Again, I didn't mean to make the swap look easy, I know it's quite the opposite.

don't get a poopra. If anything, get a 300ZX, great cars. Personally I advise you to save the money instead of blow it on a car. As I am finally starting to realize

you can find already swaped 240s with systems, rims whole ride hooked up for 10k easy. After i got my max for 10k, i was around more online and found about 3 240sx off the hook and they pwned at the track for sale with less than 10k on the new 20DET motors. Maxima is great for daily driver!

the last thing you want to do is buy an already swapped 240sx, there are too many variables to consider;

how well was the swap done and who did it?
how has the car been treated since the swap?, there is a good bet that its been beat on.
Where was the motor bought from?

I would never buy a car that has already had a swap done to it. Much better and safer to buy a stock car and do it yourself.

Saving now wouldn't really be worth it. What i make now is a fraction of what i make later on in life (after i graduate college). So saving now wouldnt ammount to much. anyway back to the cars....im starting to think of selling the maxima and getting a newer used car like a 350z or something around 17 grand.....hmmmmm

no..that would be pretty stupid if you did that now, just wait it out and do it later.
