If I put coilovers on my ride, what other parts are necessary? Do I need strut mounts, bearings, and/or bumpstops? I'm going to need expensive items besides the shocks and springs. So maybe coilovers are the way to go?

Thanks, Aaron

With Ksports you don't have to buy anything its all there...all you do is swap the stock strut/spring combo with the one that you buy, but with ksport all you have to do is installed it you don't need a spring compressor becuase the coilovers come assembled

wiht ksports/d2's, what you get is what you need. everything comes with the coilovers, including camber plates.

k-sport d2's coems with everything and is made like the tein flex. but they don't have that for the 4th gen. to get the same height through each corner is the hardest part. once lil adjustment will throw it off..took me a while to get every corner almost the same height but amber plates n pillow upper monut com with it...everythign you need is there..you will however re-use 5 bolts in the front n 3 botls in th rear

Thank you! I believe I am getting KSports now. Since Illuminas, S-Techs, and the other parts, such as strut bearings, mounts, etc. will jack up the price to around $1100.

where r u shopping........if u get new mounts they have bearings.....and they are like 50 bux a piece.....dust boots are way cheap so are bumpstops for the rear....in all u should pay no more than 750 for spring strut combo with all the xtras.....but k-sports would still be better.....and u can also get TEIN BASIC coilovers for round 750 too

How do you like them? Any noises? Camber plates only come with the KSports? Maybe I should get Tein Coilover...

I love the teins, no noises and good ride.

Alittle bouncy now that i slammed them realy low.

And my camber is alittle negitive but its nothing to complain about.

I never drove in a car with k-sports but most poeple that have them like them , and i hear alot of people with D2 have problems with noises or blown struts, just doesnt sound like a good product

Dustboots: $68
Bearing: $31.95 x 4
Bracket: $19.98 x 4
Insulator: $40.70 x 4

Total: $1023.52

Did I forget anything. All these parts should be necessary...

Coilovers (for example KSports): $820 shipped

I don't know if I could reuse any parts. I hear popping and rumbling noises going down the road.

I never got a solid answer of what I would defineatly need for a suspension installation.

ok here is what i def suggest if u go spring strut

1. new front mounts KYB makes ones with bearings already set to go just put the new mount in

2. Spring of your choice and Strut of your choice

3. Camber plates if ur lower than 2 in....i am 2.2" lower dont have them and i am fine

4. i would get the gasket thingy that goes between the mount and frame of car....(i du nno if those were the isolators u were referring to.) i made my own out of foam from craft store..

rumbling and poping can be ball-joints an wheels bearings as well.....

but if u have the cash i would say a true coilover....TEIN Basics are perfect the only thing is they arnt dampening adjustable.....but from what i hear they are designed so goo u dont need the adjustability.......so i would thinkg about it....any other ? feel free to drop a pm......i have done 3 diff suspension setups in 2 differnet maximas.....

i have d2's. i fixed my noise issues by puttin no pre-load on the spring. i drove already about 12,000 miles since april n not a blown strut. tein basics require you to re-use some old parts ratehr than just the bolts. the tein requires you to re-use the stock upper mount. or you have to go out and buy them. they are expensive. lemme tell you. i'm not saying that tein's aren't great, i love them since i did have the tein SS on my accord, but the price for te k-sport n d2's were something i couldn't wait for

I like the idea of adjustable ride height. I'm pointing more towards coilovers I think. I have to talk with my dad...

the first batch of D2s in the countyr had problems with blown struts. I have not heard of anyone that got htem after that first batch that have had strut problems. also, I have barely any noise issues.

Yea, I have 17" wheels and 50 rubber around them too. I am leaning towards the KSports right now, but I would like to see your whip anyway. I'm like 3 seconds from New Britain.
