so everyone seems to hate the cali spec...why is that? mine is a cali spec and i wanna know why its so bad? thanks

 

It's the 99 cali specs people hate, I think all the earlier models are ok, or at least have less problems than the 99. It's just a b!tch to work on. All these little extra emissions control parts getting in the way of things. Bad coils, Ks is very difficult to get to, 4 o2 sensors, Y-pipe does not get rid of all precats, no available ecu upgrades, $100 keys because of the immobilizer system, and so on and so forth. All this may not apply to everyone's cali spec, but it does mine.

I still like the damn car. It starts everyday and don't look half bad.

 

I live in Cali but luckily i bought my max before i moved to cali in florida. Frickin ppl wanted to run all these tests and stuff on my car

 

basically the emissions are stricter than fed spec from what i hear.

 

oh ok...well i bought mine in new hampshire and the guy who bought it new before me had bought it somewhere in mass. its rreally weird..
