Weird Question??

well, this mite be a weird one, i dont really know how to explain it: as far as accelerating from a stop goes, would stomping on the pedal get u to point B quicker and at a higher trap speed than slowly applying the gas until WOT while still staying in first gear?? perhaps first gear tops out at a certain speed no ifs ands or buts about it, but would either of these methods get u to that speed quiker and in less distance than the other?? ive been meaning to test both out, just wanna see if anyone knows

i believe in my auto that if i don't necessarily stomp it, it would cruise in first n take really long to go to 2nd even applying more pressure as more speed i go. however, in turbo'ed cars, i think you're better off applying the gas as the rpms raise. but since first gear is usually short, i would stick to pedal to the metal. maybe after the 2nd shift is when i would let go of the gas a bit n then start to put my foot down.....just use a stop watch, but both should be relatively within the same range

Launch your launch and ease the pedal up to WOT, thats what I do, I never fully stomp WOT it... apparantly im running rich at WOT once the o2's get bypassed and goes into open loop, so I ease it to WOT so I can still run on o2's, but once I get WOT forget it...

Makes sense? LoL o_o

I dunno, bye...

Dude, hows your car running? Havnt heard from you in a while

in a turbo'd car you want as much exhuast as possible, so you want WOT. if you dont, you wouldnt/shouldnt get into the boost. (that much)

hmm....well, my thinking is if u stomp it u'll go through he gear quicker thus not making use of ur power band, but if u ease it to wot while accelerating, ur just wasting time getting up there in mph?? make sense any?? im confusing myself, is mph contingent upon rpms in any given gear?? meaning, at 4k rpms in a gear will u be at the same speed every single time? 5k, 6k?? im tired, bye

well, when you go WOT the ecu disregards the o2 sensors and goes into open loop with a set air/fuel map, so for me, it richens me out so much im losing power...

part throttle the ecu is still using the o2 sensors so it adjusts for the extra gas....

After 3K it wont matter.
