got code 0908, need help

I was driving home from work yesterday and noticed the car was running a little rough, half way home check engine light comes on, 0908, since I have 142k mi., I am going to test and replace if need be the ECTS, I live right by courtesy nissan so no big deal, however I was 2 blocks from my house when my clutch pedal suddenly goes all the way to the floor! I was going through a light and was able to coast through and get the car into 2nd gear and limp it home to my drive way. I couldn't get it into 1st to pull into the garage. I have had a small leak in the clutch line for years and since I am too lazy to install the stainless steel line I ordered a year ago, I always just top off the reservoir and keep driving! I was able to pull the pedal up with my foot and shift into 1st and pull into the garage after openning the top and check to see that the clutch fluid level was ok. Do you think the clutch issue could have anything to do with the 0908 cel? Or is it just a coincedence? (when it rains, it pours)

If it is not related, how do I tell if the clutch issue is a slave cylinder or master cylinder problem?

with a leak i'd think you would get air in your clutch lines

0908 and clutch are unrelated.

I do get some air in the lines and see slightly reduced pressure on the pedal but not enough to worry about. I am going to pickup and hopefully change the ECTS tonight, then I will do a test drive and see what the condition of the car is at that point. I am already slated to change my tranny oil on Sat. for some Amsoil 75w-90 GL4 that arrived at my doorstep yesterday. So if I need to deal with the stainless steel line and possibly change the slave or master cylinder, I would like to get it done Sat. as well.

Changed the ECTS and the car ran fine afterwords.

However after changing the tranny oil, now I am hearing a clicking noise from the tranny when idling, twice yesterday when I shifted I felt a clunk, and first, second, and third are harder to shift into now. Any ideas?
