auto dim mirror

I am interested in installing an I30 interior, auto dim mirror. I have searced FAQ's and found a pictorial "how to" but I would really like more detailed info on: what parts I will need (does mirror come with all attaching wires and sensors or seperate items), what goes where/how...I guess just a more detailed discussion of pictorial "how to". Can anyone guide me to a thread(date/author) and/or someone who has done this that I can talk to??

It's really not all that hard. Most auto dim's only need a 12V source and ground. The 12V wire coming out of the mirror is usually best to tap into a 12V ignition wire. This way, the mirror is only powered when the car is on. The ground, you can tap into any bare metal of the car. If the mirror has the temp. setting, you have to tap this wire into the ambient wire if the car is equipped with one. Usually, all the auto A/C systems in Nissan's have them. The temp. sensor is usually mounted outside the car near the bottom of the grill/bumper. Might need a service manual to see exactly what color of the wire is, and where to tap into. I hope this helped any.

it's not hard at all, just make sure you get the wiring harness that it should come with.
