Can auto axles be installed into a manual tranny?

I'm asking because I see a lot of ebay auctions selling axles that can work for both auto\manual trannys. I'm sure they are different OEM part numbers but is there a possiblity they are interchangeable. I guess people who done an auto to 5-speed swap will know for sure.

1 does, the other doesn't

I think its the passenger side that you can keep as Auto, but the drivers side has to be Manual

If this is true it will save me $100 for my 5spd swap
