Totaled My Maxima Today

My sisters wedding is tomorrow so i been running around town this entire week. I was about 2miles from home and this old lady (83yrs old) ran a yield sign. It was my right away and I was going 45mph. I tried to brake, but before i knew it i had no chance of saving myself from hitting her. Airbags came out and got a small rash on my right arm. I'm feeling well right now...no pain just alil sorness. The lady was ok...her car was a f*** tank so she was ok. Cops came and said it was her fault. I'm pretty sure the car is totaled. Airbags came out...etc...Pictures are below...just want all you out there for this long weekend to drive safe.

Sorry to see that! Not sure how insurance works where you are, but do you have the opportunity to buy the car back or keep it, once paid out. You won't get squat for all those mods and may want to take them off if you decide to buy another Max.

Get ready for the wedding and enjoy yourself! Forget about the car for the time being. Everything will sort itself out.

i'm sorry to hear that. i suggest you get out of the car what you can and just start over (hopefully her insurance will pay for it). just think. you get to live all those great times of doing this or that on your new car. and this time...you've done it already once. its gonna be quicker and easier. but good luck man and congrats for your sister. like they said above...thats where your attention should be. trust me: cars come and go, they are replacable objects. your life is whats important man. good luck!!!!!

Sorry to hear that!

Have you heard of Manchester, TN? I believe it's near chattanooga. I was living there for a few months. I remember how the back roads were like mini highways; or at least they could easily be treated that way.

damn man sorry bout ur max it was a beautifull one....i really dont agree with 83 year old ladies out there driving i mean sometimes they shud just call it quits on driving because they dont have reaction times worth shiit anymore
And asians in general - At least around here.

Sorry for the loss. Those lincoln towncars are tanks. That thing would win out in every accident. I had one of those rear end my old camaro. Tore the car in half upto the back seat, yet barely a dent on the towncar. And yes, it was an old guy driving. Hope everything works out for you.

And Fok you on the asian comment.

damn, that really sucks. I really dont agree with old people driving, they should just take the taxi or the bus. but at least you are ok.
the only thing that sucks even more is that all the time, and money you put into your car is all a waste now and its going to be hard to get another car that you will be satisfied with for the same price as your totalled one. Good luck.

Thats funny, my max was totaled in the week before a wedding too.

Make sure her insurance company gets you a rental car, tell them its not safe to drive. I got one the next day. It was a Dodge Magnum for 3 weeks, it was pretty suite.

And don't get your hopes up about getting a bunch of money from the insurance. I only broke even because I was able to sell the old are for 600 more than the salvage company offered me. And find out what day they will stop paying for the rental car, I didn't now I owe Enterprise $200.

I feel your pain. I went thru the same deal a month ago. Just be happy that you are ok and start looking for a new car as fast as you can because its a pain to find something that you would like.
Be happy for your sister, and get waisted

sorry to hear about the accident. Again its good you are alright. Its just the whole fron needing to be replaced it may not be totaled, but since the air bags went that makes it a good posibility.

Get another Max and swap parts and part out the old one. Keep us updated.

You might be best served if you bring you insurance company into the deal. The know more about this kind of thing than any of us. Perhaps they can help you to get all that you deserve. And if you have stock parts and access to the car, put them back. Even if you don't reuse the aftermarket stuff, you can sell it and ease your pain.
