I was wondering what a good set of lowering springs would be to use with my stock struts. Im looking for something a bit firmer, and probably a 1.5-2 inch drop. Thanks in advance! peace

not necessarily true.

ive been running progress springs on stock shocks w/ no problems.
my friend has been running CUT sprints on stock shocks for a year and a half - no problems.

its not the best idea but it wont necessarily kill them.

i do plan on getting coilovers tho

i agree with ya totally, but they are more likely to blow with lowering springs faster then stocks.

actually.. if your totally stock.. stock rims and tires too.. if i were you, and your gonna take all that apart to change something, cut your stock springs, and just buy kyb gr2's instead.. this is the only time id recomennd gr2's.. but if your that desperate to save money than so be it.

Go cheap and you'll regret it. K Sport are around the same price if not cheaper than Tein basics and from what I hear ride better because of strut adjustability. If you were staying on stock struts I would say Tein H techs, but they are not that low. I've had Intrax springs for about 3 years and my stock SE struts are basically dead, they went around May. Got illumina rears so far, saving up for the fronts. My front struts are still decent, night and day compared to the illuminas though. If you get the illumina "kit", you have strut adjustabilty and a lifetime warranty for around $600, plus the drop is like 1.7.

I put H&R springs on my SE over 3 years ago with the stock SE struts, no issues - but then I don't do auto-x or road racing, just daily driving in mostly suburb conditions. I do think the ride got a bit harsher over rough pavement.

alright thanks for the feedback. ive got lifts and all that good stuff at work, so all the labor isnt a big deal for me, i just wanted a cheap alternative to a 1000 dollar coilover kit. Although if my stock stuff does blow id have an excuse for coilovers, but bleh not worth 2 changes. i guess ill just keep savin.
