car died on red light

car died on red light

today i was coming back home from work.
i stopped on red light when my engine turned off. I was WTF??? put on Park and started it again than i shifted to D and car died again started it one more time. green came out,pressed gas and noticed thatcar accelerate like $hit, cant even pass 2500rpm. after couple minutes CEL came ON. I didnt pull out codes yet. its holliday so everythink is closed, and its to dark to do it (10pm)
whats wrong with my max??

Wow, could be alot of things... Autozone might be open, they have 24hr ones where I live. In fact, I was just up there about an hour ago to get my CEL checked and cleared. New knock sensor is a pain in the butt, actually a pain in the hand.

Sounds like your MAF is unplugged or has died on you classic symptom is the no rev past 2500rpm

bad MAF, buy a used one on here or ebay for about 40-60 bucks.

ok. have a code. its P0100 which is MAF sensor.
Now i have to get new one, and i have question. do i have to buy MAF from maxima or i can get one from infiniti

As already suggested, you best bet is to get a working used one. A brand new Nissan MAF will run you 400 bucks.

Before you go and buy a replacement, make sure yours is plugged in properly and clean out the connectors and see if that helps. It likely won't, but it doesn't hurt to try.

You can pick up a used working MAF off Ebay or the classifieds forum for < 100 bucks. A MAF of an Infiniti from 95-99 will fit also.

how about infiniti QX45, is the same like maximas MAF

doubt it. the MAF from an RB25DET will also work. there should be a couple on ebay, or go on some 240sx sites and look around there. any 240 guys that have done rb25 swaps and have upgraded to a z32 maf will sell their stock rb25.
