Middle East Variable Intake

Its a dual resonance manifold that takes advantage of a natural supercharging effect.

Basically a mod that should have fell out when was discovered 00VI, but for some reason has stuck because people are too lazy to fiddle/fabricate with 00VI.

Well if you have MEVI already then that is perfectly fine, but if I ever went VI then it would HAVE to be 00VI. I can't deal with the loss of low end or hell ... paying 450 to JWT to get it back and to actually reap the benefit of the MEVI. 00VI will provide benefits to an ECU that is stock.

You don't know what the f your talking about. So many of you guys are so freakin misguided it's sickening. Let's see if you can keep up with a car with a MEVI.

In a way he's right. The only thing the MEVI has over the 00VI is ease of installation.

I could imagine a MEVI'd car w/7200 VS a 00vi'd car w/o rev limit increase ... say, are any of my tailights out?

Unfair comparo. The 00VI'd car could get a 7200 RPM limit increase as well.

He's not right because the VI takes about the same time to install as the 00VI given you have all of the adapters to make it work. Installing the MEVI is hard work also. Either way, the cars to beat in the 1/4 (auto and 5 speed) both have MEVI's.

MEVI is a bolt on though. 00VI is far from bolt on as it requires adapters and creative rerouting of various emissions related junk.

I understand that. if you have everything available at the time of installation of the 00Vi how much longer would it take to install it. I know damn well that when I installed mine and Zach's, i didn't choose to do it becausee i was lazy. That's a stupid assessment.

i see alot of d* riders here. they see acouple people post something and if enough people agree on it they assume it all true with out even seeing a dyno or doing the modd themselves. i bet if three or more mods said that the module chip off ebay worked alot of these non knowing newbies would swear up and down that they work also without any dynoes or anything. just keep your mouth shut and let the experience people talk. and by the way the module off ebay does work cause deezo said so...

LOL You MEVI defenders. 00VI IS BETTER! All Motor forum ... first sticky. If you install MEVI and 00VI WITHOUT ECU then 00VI wins. If you install MEVI and 00VI WITH ECU then 00VI wins. Either way ... 00VI wins. I did read the thread about the first person to get MEVI on 99 and supposedly the powerband didn't dip as bad, but then again the 99 ECU is different.

thanks for showing me that dyno for the umphteen time i never and i repeat never said that the oovi was second to the mevi. i just stated that i didn't like when some people on here give info on certain things like they did the modd or something and they post to the newbies misinformed post. alot of you people on here need to go threw all the darn stickies and just take the time to just go threw all the old threads that way you can see everything thats been talked about and won't start repeated threads. and the oovi is better only cause the dyno proves it. not cause someone told me so. and

You can't defend anything seeing as you don't have both nor driven a car with either.

The meaning of better is whatever the individual wants it to mean. The 00VI makes a little more HP, that's all. The 00VI is a hassle in itself install and I say to anyone who has the means to do it, go for it. If anyone wants the MEVI, go for it. Don't let people tell you what to buy and try to turn you away from the MEVI. Newer dynos are showing no huge loss in midrange and you won't even feel the loss with the stock ECU. FACT.

There are give and take situations when comparing the 2 manifolds but one is not hugely better than the other IMO.
