Does putting a exaust pipe tip on a car change anything other than the appearence?

hell yeah! On the 97+ you gain 20 hp , but on the 96-95 you only gain 15 hp due to the smaller opeing of the muffler.

Be nice

it serves no purpose except aesthetics, it also saves you from the annoying drone of most real mufflers...
