How Many Miles On Your MAX?
I bought the car 2.5 years ago with 158k and a broken odometer. I do a lot of driving, so I am guessing it is over 200k easily. It does leak oil now after I had the water pump replaced, so I might be looking for a new engine this summer.
197k on a 1998, original motor, new-ish clutch, although it drinks about a qt of oil every 3k and has been doing so since 100k. It also started burning a little oil three months ago, but only on start up and after sitting for a couple days.
95 Maxima GLE, 180K. Have not used a single drop of oil between oil change (5K miles). On Mobil 1 synthetic oil since 20K. Redline ATF. Only use distilled water/coolant (50/50) in the radiator. Starter has been replaced twice - defected starter was replaced under warranty. Whilst the car needed a new water pump, I've decided to put in the new timing chain and tensioner, since it has started to make a little bit of noise. Bottom engine is as clean as a brand new car, no oil leak anywhere. Love this baby.

Did a knock sensor right away.
both CV shafts.
water pump.
Thats it, besides flushing all the fluids and other regular maintainance. Exhaust needs replacing, although my aluminum warspeed y-pipe looks great. Even after 5 Minnesota winters. LOLS at all you tards who think you need Stainless y-pipes.

I plan to keep her going for a while even though rust is getting to her.

314,300-ish...stil orig motor & orig tranny. matter-of-fact, basically none of the motor internals have been replaced, minus coil packs, but who hasn't replaced those?
- 2nd starter
- 2nd radiator (first damaged in crash)
- 2nd alternator (first damaged by oil leak)
- 5th or 6th battery...i lost count.
- 2nd AC compressor (first went out late last year)
- 2nd muffler (first rusted out a few years back)
some other minor stuff has been replaced, but on the whole, the car is as it was when it was floated across the ocean.

Just bought my first max off my buddy for $500 and she sitting right at 235k run like a champ, so far I had to replaced the all the brake pads and rotor including the harmonic balancer by myself thank you, this weekend will be the ignition switch and blower resistor. when the winter break then I will do valve cover gasket and strut
