17 X 7 rims, Yea I searched...

...and got lost in the sauce. Just bought a set of ADR 17X7 rims. Yea, I know 18" would have been better but we got pot holes all over the place in the north east. Problem is tire rack suggest 235/45-17. ADR says the best tire is 225/45-17. I'd like to stay with the wider tire if it would be safe. What are you 17X7 rim guys running?

it doesnt really matter. but the wider the better as long as you stay in a reasonable width

with a 7 in wide rim i would get 225's, just so that the tires dont bulge out past the rim too much...

235's on 7" rims are gonna be sticking out alot....

Did you really search? I know I've answered this question personally probably 15 times.

I'm running 235/45 on my 17x7. The tires are a tad wider than the wheels. I'm switching to 17x8's soon, and I will continue to run 235/45 tires.

just to put this into prespective.. its only a 10mm difference.. which amounts to what? probably less than 1/4 inch... i have 235's on mine.. its fits perfect
