M-bumper frustration

Well I have one of the very first m-bumpers. The ones that Angela sold when she owned redlinemax. Well some different things happened and I wasn't able to get the bumper and the skyline sideskirts and rear bumper put on. So I decided I was going to try and see if I can put it on myself. Well in the process of doing so I go to try and fit up the bumper to the car and it will not even come close to fitting up. The bumper reinforcement doesn't slide into the bumper like it does on the stock bumper. It keeps it from sliding forward. Needless to say my attempt to install has been unsuccessful. One thing I was curious about was if the 97-99 reinforcement is different then the 95/96. I'm trying to see different areas that would make a difference but it seems the only way this bumper could fit up is if a shop remakes different parts of it or if I didn't have a bumper reinforcement on there. Does anyone have any knowledge as to how much work it was (for you or the shop) having the M-bumper installed?

I took my rear rebars off to fit the skyline bumper so it's like 50~60lbs lighter in the back. Just hope that no one hits me from the rear.

the bumper reinforcement will have to be cut at the corners for the bumper to fit, however thats the least of your worries when installing that POS. if it's anything like mine it wont line up with anything else on the car, hense there being a stock '95 front bumper on my car instead of this $350 waste of money

my body shop said it was the worst kit that they've ever seen

you'll probably have to get a cut off wheel to cut off the two joints welded next the the stock grill. and you'll proabaly have to get the M-Fenders

The M-Bumper will NOT fit with the Front Bumper reinforcment and will have to be uninstalled. I had a custom one made to accomodate the front bumper.

I ordered my front from sarona...and I still have my bumper reinforcement...and everything lined up. I had to really work with it...but after like an hour or so me and my friend fit it on there....like I had to hold one side of the kit...after I put it on...and he had to pull it to make it fit over the fenders....if that helps any. We put on one side at a time.

Well I'm reasonably sure I got a really bad one. Which sucks. This whole thing sucked. I bought the kit form redlinemax under Ang for $700 included m-bumper, skyline sideskirts and rear bumper. Well I ended up getting 2 driverside sideskirts, I'd try to get it replaced but nothing has ever come about it. Not only that the side skirts were at least 3 inches too short. Now I found out that the M-bumper will not fit with the reinforcement after trying to install it, not only that it is about 1-2 inches too wide among other problems. This has to be the crappiest kit ever made. So I can only imagine that the rear bumper fitment will suck also. I should have just got a stillen kit. At least I would've known it would fit. Oh well that's $700 down the drain. I'm so tempted to just throw the peice of crap in the street and watch it shatter.

thats the EXACT same problem i had. i got the m-type fenders and the m-type bumper that came out to right around $700 as well. all the pieces were total sh|t. as you said the bumper was way too wide and mine was also about an inch and a half too "low" so that there was a gap between it and the grille and headlights. the fenders were also worthless as there was about an inch gap between them and the doors. i tried contacting redline but they outright ignored me.

what a ****in ****ty company. **** them

Yeah redline does have some really crappy customer service in my experience with this m-bumper/skyline kit. Oh well. I might start saving for the ionics CF lip kit. And then just get a 97-99 front bumper. Pending that the rear portion will fit on a 95/96 rear bumper. Or I guess I could always get a 97-99 rear bumper also. I'm just pissed that I spent $700 for a kit that will never be put on and that I can't do anything with unless I want to spend hundreds of dollars to get it installed because it would probably take forever to get it to fit right and have the fiberglass reworked.

007, I responded to your email about the bumper myself, Yes the original M bumperrs that Ange sold Sucked!!!! I can definatley atest to that. I had to try 3 of them to get one to half way fit on my own car!! The current batch of M bumpers are alot better and don't have those crazy issues. However, I am recreating a new mold of the bumper myself in Flexible fiberrglass, and guarantee fitment, because I don't want the things which were posted in this thread to have my name attached to them!!! If yopu notice both of the new bumpers which I, we as a company, have just created have no fitment issues. We are a better company than that now.

Hacim, Actually you again were right the cust service on the old Skyline kits again sucked!!! I had to have a new mold made for a customer just because I didn't want him to have those same fitment issues as every one else, Including myself!!!! I also have the very first skyline kits on my car, remember my car is the one advertised everywhere. I have spent and am spending alot of money getting these kits recreated so that we can guarantee fitment and have no customer service issues on these kits at all

Well you are correct. Although my initial request from you was about the skyline sideskirts. But yes you were helpful. However when I tried to do anything with Ange I got absolutely nowhere. I sent the side skirt to her and never got anything in return, not even a response. So it sucks. Not that it would have mattered because now I realize even if I had got the side skirt back it still wouldn't have worked. I can admit that you were helpful on other aspects that. It still just sucks that I have wasted $700 on an unusable kit. I think you can sympathize with or understand that aspect of my frustration.

well i'm glad there's now someone there now who cares about customer service. with the kind of parts and service Angie was providing she was running the company into the ground. i understand that her previous mistakes are not your fault, but you must also understand my frustration with speding $700 on a worthless kit that i couldn't use. once again i understand that these products were sold before you had charge of the company but is there anything you can do about mending these issues for us? i highly doubt anything can be done with the bumper i already have as it's such a ****ty fit. how about a discount on the new batch or something on that nature?

Just to add, I own one of the newly produced M-Bumpers which I got from Redline, and I have had no fitment issues whatsoever. I even get more compliments with this kit than when I had the skyline one.

Yeah too bad I'll never have that opportunity, Because I'm not about to pay another 700+ on this kit. This does truly suck. But your car does look awesome.

Does anyone want a cracked M Sport bumper, that has some custom fiberglass done to it? I cracked it in two places, and someone with skills could make it really cool again. I would sell it cheap. My wife drives my car alot, and for her, it sticks out too far and sits too low. Hence the cracks!! I will post before pics now, don't have any since the cracks yet, but if someone were REALLY interested.....

Redlinemax does not sell the M-Bumper or anything related to the M-Bumper kit. I'm disappointed in that they don't sell it anymore. I myself don't really like the sorona bodykit or the shogun kit. Does anyone know if anyone else sells the same type of kit. Does anyone else know how the services are for Redlinemax, I was planning on buying some stuff from them.

Sounds good to me but I never did like the stillen rear all that much its just a little too plain for me. The skyline rear is my favorite.

I looked on the website of relinemax.com and they don't sell the M-bumper. very disappointed in that because I love how aggresive the front looks, I was also looking for the rear bumper too but they don't have that either. What do you think about Customenterprise and their products like the Skyline body kit they sell?
