Totalled the max...

if you care, bodily damages: http://community.webshots.com/album/453220686ZHFgDj

Well, totalled the car. To make a long story short, guy came out of no where and ran straight into me. He made a run for it on foot a second later, and was caught, lol. He was charged with leaving the scene with injuries, leaving the scene with damages, habitually driving without a license, violation of probation, possession of marijuana less than 20g, and resisting arrest.

here are the pics... (you can see them here too http://www.cardomain.com/ride/700980/9)

what a dich. His nuts would be in his lungs if he tried doing that to me. Good luck to you. Remember there's an FBI crime victim fund that you can probably tap into. Ask the cops to refer you.

Hey man, who cares about a car, it can be replaced, you can't. Glad you escaped with non-life threatening injuries. It's really going to ruin my day when I read about one of these accidents and someone dies because of some moron. Again, I'm glad you're here to talk about it. take care of yourself and get well. And lastly, get another Max!!!!
Peace

thanks again guys. i really do appreciate everything.

as for fixing it up, its totalled because of the damage to the engine bay and the frame, along with the fact that both airbags deployed. as for the rear end damage, i guess when he hit me, i spun twice and nailed him again with my *** end.

as for insurance, i didnt have collision and i was sited for "failure to yield right of way" which legally IS my fault, but for the situation, i know i was not at fault. this was this guys' 7th violation of driving without a license.

on top of that, the county is fighting the state because they dont think i deserve the ticket.

That is gay as hell. Another nice max out of commission. What performance mods did you have? I would advise that you advertise popular parts such as that left fog light that survived or your rugs.

wow man thats quite a wreck. thats the first time i've seen someone have any significant injuries after wrecking a maxima. i wish you a speedy recovery with that leg

i really hope the other guy's insurance (if he had any) will cover your car, and even though you had no collision coverage for your car your insurance should be paying all your medical bills. make sure you don't get screwed there man, that would really suck on top of everything else

how about that license plate frame and the emblems off of the rear doors shipped to 12309 for $15? sorry man i wish i could help you out more but those are only things i fancy on your car (that weren't destroyed in the wreck, i don't suppose that passangers side foglight fared well?)

thanks everyone, im glad to see the support im getting.

hopefully this will work out, legally, the way it should and in my favor. i mean, if i was at fault, i would admit it, but i defintely was not in this siutation and the county police and 2 witnesses agree with me. now its up to the state to listen to all the evidence or not.

o, and my performance mods were only a short ram and an underdrive pulley. the thing that gets me most is how much i took care of it, wax once/week, oil religiously every 3000, along with air, oil, fuel filters, pcv valves, i mean, it just seems like it was all a waste...

either way though, i was experiencing a shot coil pack, horrible oil leak, bad gas mileage, knock sensor, so i guess it was good i didnt replace anything.

sry for the double post.

The whole insurance thing is like a game. I've been on the wrong side of some shady dealings by the other people in the accident as well as the insurance company. You definetely did the right thing by taking mad pictures, the next thing, although seemingly understood, is to document everything - phone calls, conversations, dates/times, etc. That stuff can (and will) come into play at some point, but with all the madness of trying to get back on your feet, it'll be hard to recollect.

Never mind the car itself and it's maintainence, you can always get another one, but you don't get another life.

Stay up

thanks, guys. you are all very right on the fact that I only get one life and I am very lucky. its just depressing to have a totalled car, a ****ed up leg, and the cause of accident on me. hopefully i can successfully argue this. acutally, i have contacted an attorney and we are going to start fighting this.
