what is this??????

so i was in my car last night putting in a new fog light switch and when i dropped the panel that would be right above your knees as you're driving, i noticed there was little discolored yellow block or box with some kind of little circular window on it. i also noticed that it was not connected to anything and there was a plug that fit into it hangin there not plugged into anything. i remember when i was in there last it wasnt connected so i lefy it disconnected. this time i plugged it back in. i was just wondering what it is and what it does. this is probably a stupid thing, but i want to make sure.

this is a wide shot of the block and the plug

this is a closer shot of it

that is the door buzzer for when your door is open with the lights on, or the key in ignition.

It is a bomb ... quickly throw your car off the nearest cliff. Ok that wasn't even funny.

I have no clue what that is.

Took 'em a little while. I remember that I wanted to put a different buzzer or something from a different car. But I never got around to it. It's hard to find one that sounds good.
