Check engine light, Code 77? ...help.

check engine 77
I have a 95 GLE that not to long ago gave me a code 33 (FRONT HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR) and a code 41 (INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR). Code 77 is REAR OXYGEN SENSOR CIRCUIT. The reason is an incorrect voltage reading (too high or to low) and possible causes could be harness or connectors, the rear oxygen sensor, fuel pressure, injectors or intake air leaks. Thats the actual answer from the dealers auto manual. What actually fixed my car was a set of new spark plugs and I also put in some injector cleaner and super unleaded. I mention super unleaded because since our high gas prices, I started using the cheap stuff. What was probably happening was the computer had to adjust to the lower octane by advancing, retarding the timing and it created a snowball effect and later caused those codes that have not returned since then. Check your plugs and if they look questionable, replace them. Good luck!

What year is your Maxima? I had that same code when i just got my 98 Maxima, it had only about 500 miles on it. It was the rear oxygen sensor. The dealer replaced my o2 sensor after double checking. They said it's has been common to Maximas, and that Nissan might recall Maximas to have it checked and then replaced.
