Y-Pipe question

I noticed that cattman and customenterprise makes separate ypipes for 95-98 and 99 maximas. While warpspeed makes one for 95-99. What is it that makes the 99 max different from the rest? Im asking because im lookin to purchase one for my 99, but the engine has 160k on it so i will be swapping my 97 engine into it. Will i need to purchase another y pipe after the swap?

if your putting a 97 engine in it you need to get the 95-98. what makes the y pipes different is that most 99s are calispec. ANd have 4 o2 sensors located by the fuel rail in the front. I think the 99s has an extra precat so the gain isnt as significant as it is in 95-98

Wait, doesnt 95-98 ypipes come in either cali or fed spec also? Where is the extra precat in the 99 located?

He is talking about the 2.5" pipe and the 3" pipe. The gains are better with the 2.5" pipe for NA performance. IF your boosted your gona wana go with the 3" WSP one.

This IS what u were asking i hope..

ugg..... a 99 has a pre cat before the y pipe in the front manifold. you would have to swap manifolds to put a 95-98 y pipe on a 99. both stillen and topspeed have a 2 peice design which fit all vq30's. just buy the 99 and get a 99 y pipe seesh.
