i had a test pipe made in place of my cat about a month ago...i never had thrown my 02 code and i had no cells before or after the test pipe...

last night my cell popped on and i had it diagnosed:
did my knock sensor make my other codes get thrown?

anyway, my friend has a KS from a 2000 maxima he got when he took the fuel injectors and manifold so I was wondering if it would work in my car or not...

 

Most likely the o2 sensor code made the Knock sensor code get thrown...clear all your codes and see what happens...

they have different part numbers in FAST, but that doesn't necessarily mean they won't work.

 

does anyone else know if a 2000 maxima KS will work in my 96?

id like to find out for sure before i switch them out...thanks guys


matty....if i dont fix my 02 sensor then reset the codes wont it still trip the KS...should i drill a hole in my test pipe and stick the 02 sensor in there?

 

Yes it will function but only if you change the electrical connector.

It is different.

I am running a 2k2 KS in my 95, it works fine and although the connector is different right at the KS its the same on the other end of the cable if you get it as well.
