Insurance payout for totaled 98

I totaled my 98 GLE with 74k miles about 2 weeks ago. It was in pretty much perfect condition, loaded with everything besides heated seats. The insurance company offered me 8700 for it, but 500 is deductible and 200 some other taxes and some ****, so basically im getting $8,000 for it. That looks very low to me considering the Blue Book Retail Value is 10,330 and i have a few examples of similar cars in a 100 mile radius selling for at least $9000.
Here are a few examples:
98 gxe
another 98 gxe

I also had an aftermarket exhaust($320) and tinted windows($140). Can i be compensated for those, or is it worthless to mention? My company is Esurance.

My main question is: how should i aproach this situation? My agent left a message on my answering machine with the $8,000 number on it and told me to call back because she needed to talk about some other things. Maybe some of you with experience in this area can tell me what to do to get more money out of this car because i truely belive its worth more than 8,000.

wow sorry to hear that man. there was a similiar thread a week or two ago dealing with this topic... i'll try to find the link. basically, you're going to have to fight with your agent or the adjuster, since they will always put their company's interests ahead of yours. good luck.

I just totalled my GTI the KBB value was 13000 but the NADA (the book they go by) was 11500. The nada is cheaper so that is what they go by

Negotiate for 9k and just mention that everything was in tip top shape. Your AM mods don't count for ****. I'm sure they can deal.

Ok thanks, so i just call them and say that the price they named is way too low? The nada value is around $9,995(around there) too, so either way they're not giving me enough. I'll call tommorow then.

It cant hurt to ask for more money. whats the worst they'll do? Say no.

I hope you're not dealing with allstate. They suck. They suck monkey *****.

If I get into another accident with an allstate policy holder I'm going to make the guy pay me $$ on the spot or i'll murder him. Just kidding.

Some idiot hit my car. 100% his fault. The bill was 1800 bucks. Allstate said they'd pay 900.

They send an adjuster over that doesnt care and will low ball anything you present.

any car insurance suck. when time for premium quote, the quote for the highest. when it's a total claim, they go for the lowest. that's how it is...

they legally can't stop you from taking off any of the aftermarket stuff you put on until you sign the title over to them. and sinse they won't give you more for having it on they can't give you less for taking it off.
