Please post pics of your screen and your current setup, dvd, cd, etc. Also does anyone have write up on how to install. How does it actually stay in place. Is it screwed down, or wedged?
Thanks
Thanks

I would like to see different setups as I also will be purchasing this in the near future. Ive seen the common in dash DVD player in the lower compartment. I assume others put an external DVD player in the glove box.

Yeah, Dvd/Cd/Vcd etc.. Rockfords Fosgate RAV-DVD 1.. Cost me 260.. You can find them on ebay..
does that have camera input?
Carlos, nice write up. I have the pioneer adapter for the aux input already. What kind of adapter did you use to switch between the camera and dvd video to the screen? How much and where did you get yours?
Thanks

I had my PS2 under the passenger seat, it wa a regular size one. It works better if you have the disc tray open towards the backseat as there is a ridge in the front that doesn't like to let the door open. Also be sure to mount the power inverter under the driver seat. I had both under the passenger seat and it caused a lot of interference with the sound.Originally Posted by MAXecutive

Regular one will fit under the passenger seat, if your wanting glove box, the slim one works perfect.

so where did you run the power wires? How thick gauge is the inverter? Is it connected dirrectly to the battery? How much current can it handle? Wheres a good place to get one? Does it run hot after long periods of time?Originally Posted by Bluemax95

I don't have any pics of mine, but, here is how I did it.
I bought a "headrest" 7" LCD. The headrest tv's come with a housing. I just got some medal L shape brackets I already had (a dollar for both a home dept), and straightend them out. Then I bolted them where the raido was bolted, with them pointing straigt tward the front, they should almost touch the woodgrain (if you have it, if not you know what I mean). after making sure the brackets clear, but almost touch, push them down, then line up your tv. Make sure you have your cd player where the push out trey was first, then line your tv up. It should rest on the top of your cd player, then push up the two brackets. It should hold it very, very tight.
Thats how I did it. I don't know what kind of tv you guys were talking about, but if it's a TFT, DONT GET IT. They look like s__t. LCD is the best, as on a TFT you have to CONSTANTLY change the brightness to see it right, whereas LCD isn't as cheaply made, and looks MUCH better.

I have replaced this headunit with the dehp80, and put a slim ps2 in the glove. I use the wireless logitech controller and the receiver is just small enough for the glove to close with no modification. Perfect fit and i got a prettier radio than the dvh5000 WOOHOO

hey has anyone put a touchscreen lcd in theirs? I saw a couple in mp3car.com but I was wondering if anyone on this forum has done it. I'm thinking of upgrading my whole audio system next year in may end. I was thinking of putting a carpc hooked up with touchscreen with dvd, gps, on screen mp3 display, bluetooth communication from cell phone, and a rear camera. If anyone has installed one, please post pictures.

I dont get what you mean "pop out"? My tv is a headrest tv, it sits in the place of the bose, like the microvision. There is a place here in Memphis called Car Toyz that has tv's very cheap. I thank the cheapest is a 5.6" TFT that will fit just fine (first tv I had) for 50 bucks brand new. Only thing is, you'll have buttons showing along the side, as the screen it's self is as tall as the opening, but not as wide by about 1.5 inches on both sides, and no remote, + crappy TFT picture. The 7" wide screen (7" square would be too tall) LCD I got, can't remember the brand name, but it's 86 dollars exactley after taxes at Car Toyz, has a remote, and looks and fits perfect. I guess Car Toyz spoiled me because $150 for a 7" is insane to me. My car is half taken apart, so I can go pull it out and see the brand name if anyone is intrested, I can get you a pic a get you one with (home made) instructions on how to mount in the bose housing, and mount your cd player in the cubby hole for a bill if anyone wants to save 50 over the microvision. Also, if you dont care about picture quility, I can get a 7" TFT for around $70. PM or email if intrested.Originally Posted by MAXecutive
what kind of 7" LCD do you have then? But most pop out tv reciecvers use TFT.

I had the ps2 orignal in my car before I striped the guts not to long ago, it fits fine under the driver side. The new ps2 is to small to go under the seat because it'll slide around, and you'll have to make some kind of bracket for it. If you have an orignal tall ps2, just take out the center consol, and run the wires underneth iit (that's where I have my power inverter too btw). Then just put you ps2 under the DRIVER side seat, when you do, put the bottom back part of your seat all the way down (you know your a$$ part, not the leg part) and it will rest on top of the PS just enough to hold it in place. Best part, all you'll have to do is lift the back part of your seat, unhook the two wires, and you can easily carry it in the house on hot days.Originally Posted by MAXecutive

BTW, I re-kk-o-mend a Pioneer head unit, because of the AUX switch built in

you should stop by and hook me up with a finders fee
but really its on Elvis Presley Blv. (hwy 51) right before you get to Whitehaven Plaza on the left across from Walgreens and Rite-Aid. (Elvis Pres @ Shelby Dr.). Don't let the guy with the braids install it though (he's the only guy they got), because he has no clue how to tie his shoes, much less wire an A/V system. And besides, they charge 3 times the price of the tv for the install anyway.
