Will this fit my needs?

Being that any response in the Audio section will take WAY too long...here goes:

I'm just another audio n00b here trying to figure out what he wants to do with his factory Bose. I know, I know

My headunit died today and I refuse to replace it with another expensive Bose unit, so I decided I'll go aftermarket. All I need is a headunit and a wiring adapter to go with it, right? I just want something that will play CD's and do it with decent quality. I do not plan on upgrading the rest of my system at all.

So what is Aiwa like? Good quality? I'm liking their CDC-X304 headunit, because it looks like it will fit my needs (and I think it looks good). I was planning on going with this wiring adapter, since the site reccomends it. I've seen an $8 adapter on sounddomain.com though...what about it?

I'm not looking to spend a whole lot of money on this, either. I plan on selling the car in a few months, but can't stand not having a stereo to listen to, so I have to do something about it. Please let me know what you guys think

...again, I apologize for where I posted it, but I don't feel like spending a week waiting for a response.

Well a wiring adapter won't cut it, if you have factory bose you will need the head unit to control the factory amps and that piece is like $70 IIRC. Aiwa should be better than stock, but why not save up for a pioneer, that would be way better, even the lower models.

Greeeatt. Why not save up? Because I'm not even keeping the car! I can't just sell the car without a headunit, either.

BTW, I just went out to get gas...and on the way home my headunit started working again So no replacement right now anyway, but I might as well find out all this stuff for in the future, since it will inevitably die sometime...

You'll need an adapter (50 bucks) PAC-NIS2 or something like that... and then you can use any aftermarket HU in your car (single or double-din)... just go to www.crutchfield.com to find out what will fit and what adapter I'm talking about.

Adapter info is also in the FAQs/audio-section.
