Rear Strut Replacement - Spring Compressor?

Just a quick question - I saw a previous response to a thread about not needing spring compressors when replacing the rear struts. Is this correct? If it is, it makes it just that much easier to replace them. Thanks...

IF you have aftermarket suspension on.... Like the S-techs, and short springs like those... But you will still need help from a person to re-install them.
On the stock suspension you have to have springs compressors to do it unless you want to have parts flying accross the garage, and endangering yourself and others....

Ahhhh, thanks...Ok, that makes sense. I figured I needed the compressors, but was wishing I didn't, to make the job easier.

Yes, I understand....I've replaced my front struts, that's why it struck me as odd when a thread mentioned that compressor weren't needed in strut replacement. I guess he was referring to non-stock replacements.

I was soo lucky when I did my suspension, my mechanic let me use his shop to do it, and thye have one of those wall mounted spring compressors that the whole strut assembly sits in. Made it soooooo easy.
