Grounding

I just bought 4 guage wiring, some nuts and bolts, for like $8. All I need are the terminals. Should I Solder the terminals to the wires or should I just connect them and use shrink wrap. Also, where can I get these terminals; I went everywhere today and nobody had them.

Yeah, I'm doing a homemade grounding kit. I just looked at the active tuning one and just bought the materials myself. I just don't know how to connect the terminals to the wires.

Can't beat it for 8 bucks... once you figure it out, post back so that others can benefit from your research and knowledge.

Nice to see a new member taking the initiative to do something on their own.

^^ Those are for 8 gauge. I need 4 gauge terminals. I might have to go to a place that installs systems.

Now I'm not sure what size to get. I found the terminals here http://www.partsexpress.com/webpage....09358&desc=ASC and I bought some M6 bolts. I have no idea which ones to get. The bolts say 1.00 x 16

its best to go to an audio store, or a store like radioshack and get the screw on connectors.

basically they go over the strand of wire, and have a allen key screw that holds the wire together..

soldering is good too, but for a thick wire like that i use my mini propane torch

btw what active tuning website? you have the link?

I'll try to go to radioshack tomorrow. Last time I checked though they didn't have any.

Radio shack might, but they probably will be the crimp on type. For those just squeeze the ends together with a pair of pliers, and get some heat shrink tubing (can get these from radio shack) to go over the ends. For cars the 5/16 rings terminals will work fine.
