Code 0901-Front Right Htd 02 sensor heater

I got code 0901 tonight. VBmaxima has "Front Right Htd 02 sensor heater." Haynes has slightly different wording "Upstream oxygen sensor heater fault (right bank)."

Search isn't working for some reason...the server is probably overloaded or something.

Has anybody had this? What exactly is it?

I've reset it, and hopefully it won't come back, but if it does I'd like to know what I'm dealing with.

Thanks for your help!!!

The Haynes wording is quite different from VB maxima, but the bottom line is usually the same, the o2 sensor is bad.

Have you experienced a decrease in mpg?

see if it comes back in a about 100 miles, if so time to replace it.

Terran with 2k+ posts - I'm seriously surprised at the nature of your question.

Time to replace the front right o2 sensor. Its the one in the y-pipe closest to the firewall. Buy one from www.oxygensensors.com, get a Bosch OEM equivalent - plug and play for 70 bucks.

You shouldn't make assumptions based on post count...it just means I'm a post ***** .

There are alot of other O2 sensor codes. When my downstream one went it didn't say anything about a heater, it was 0707 "Downstream oxygen sensor or circuit fault." Since the upstreams have codes that mean this as well I would have thought the one I got would mean something different.

Thanks for your help though both of you.

The downstream doesn't have a heater - only the two upstream one's do. But the confusion is understandable. I think there are a total of 4-5 different CEL codes that map to just the O2 sensors.
